US Masters Golf 2008
The excitement is palpable, the course in magnificent condition and the top golfers have been polishing their extraordinary talents at tournaments around the world for this one moment, the first grand slam golf tournament of the year.
Nerves are mounting and several of the top players have opted for a two week rest before they tee-off on April 10th at the US Masters Augusta National Golf Course - the World number one, Tiger Woods is amongst them.
Tiger Woods US Masters Odds
The legendary Arnold Palmer has publicly tipped the rampant Tiger Woods to win all four majors this season, not only the US Masters 2008, and let’s face it, the Tiger has been in blistering form, winning seven consecutive championship events since December 2007!
The man who has recently passed Palmer’s record of 63 career PGA wins, must be relieved that his winning streak came to an end at the WGC-CA Championships in late March instead of on the hallowed fairways of one of the most revered and feared golf courses in the world – the Augusta National Golf Course.
Woods is one of the most prolific Augusta Masters winners, with four Green Jackets in his closet already, but as Australian, Geoff Ogilvy proved at Doral Golf Resort, he can be beaten.
Ogilvie has had a taste of winning a grand slam event – he took the 2007 US Open at Winged Foot, so he must be thrilled that he is finding his touch just before the big event in Georgia.
Ogilvie, Jim Furyk, Vijay Singh, Retief Goosen, Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson and, of course, the young guns of the golfing world, are all very much in contention, and any of them, on the day could very well find their names at the top of the 2008 US Masters leaderboard.
The 2007 event was won by a real wild card, Zach Johnson, but the odds of this happening again aren’t that high. For all the latest tips an US Masters odds take a look at our US Masters Golf – Betting Odds page.
